Too Much Too Young

They're back! We're pleased to announce the return of The Extra Specials, a tribute to The Specials.

The Extra Specials are the UK's premiƩre Specials tribute performing a full set of Specials classics with a few "extras" from that era thrown in!

The Extra Specials were formed in Hartlepool in 2014 by Mick Hudson (Finetimes) and Kev McGuire (The Style Selektors) and various local musicians were drafted in to provide drums, bass, keys and brass. They performed at large festivals, various scooter rallies and as tour support for higher profile bands such as The Selecter, Bad Manners, From the Jam, The Beat, Secret Affair, The Lambrettas and The Chords

The band swiftly became a favourite across the UK and Specials guitarist Roddy Radiation was so taken by the bands authenticity, attitude and attention to detail that he played a full set with them at a sold out gig at Whitehaven City Hall. The Extra Specials performed at the legendary Coventry 2-Tone Village where former Specials member Neville Staple was seen dancing happily away to them.Kev was also asked by English Beat front man Dave Wakeling to play guitar for them at their Coventry home coming gig a few years back where the band also included Rhoda Dakar, Jennie Belle Star and Roddy Radiation

After a serious brain injury occurred to Kev's baby daughter Millie he stopped performing altogether to care for her for a year and now that things have settled slightly he has returned with a new improved Extra Specials to perform those classic hits to thousands of like minded fans across the UK.
